Ayres y Danzas

Gaspar Sanz

These pieces are 17th century spanish dances, composed by Gaspar Sanz (1640 - 1710). The pieces originate from Instruccion Sobre la Guitarra Espanola.

The Rujero is a dance. The Zarabanda has the characteristic 3/4 - 6/8 rythmic pattern that shows up in much Spanish and Latin American music. La Esfachata de Napoles, La Minona de Cataluna and Canciones are arrangements of folk songs. Paradetas and Matachin are dances.
