This is a Branle, a dance form from an anthology, printed by Pierre Phalése (1510 -1573), also known under the Latin name Phalesius. Phalése was a music publisher from Louvain in the the section of Belgium which was called The Southern Netherlands in those days. His anthologies spread the music of many composers in print all over Europe.
A Branle is a French walking-dance, which is characterized by a strong rhythmic feeling with a drone bass and sometimes a verse/refrain form.
