Clarines y Trompetas
Gaspar Sanz
This Clarines y Trompetas is a 17th century spanish piece, composed by Gaspar Sanz (1640 - 1710). It mimicks trumpet signals with the typical natural overtones, creating a special atmosphere.
Gaspar Sanz originated from the district of Aragon and taught theology at the university of Salamanca. The Canarios is part of a musical instruction book for guitar -Instruccion Sobre la Guitarra Espanola- which contains besides a lot of technical excercises a large number of arrangements of popular song and dance tunes from that time.
