Prelude in D

Johann Sebastian Bach

This is an arrangement of the Prelude from Prelude, Fugue and Allegro BWV 998 by Johann Sebastian Bach. (1685 - 1750). See the description of the Bourree for more biographical information.

The musicologists do not fully agree whether this piece was composed for lute or for harpsichord. Bach in fact composed for both when using his Lautenwerk -a keyboard with lute sound- to compose his lute pieces.

The piece will be part of my programme in this season (2008/2009), I already heard some nice interpretations on Youtube, so I am looking forward to it!
