Souvenir de Quinze Aout

This piece was composed by the Spanish composer Jose Ferrer Esteve de Fujadas (1835-1916), a contemporary of Francisco Tarrega and Miguel Llobet. Ferrer wrote a few pieces in the typical 19th century style Musique de Salon.
Ferrer dedicated quite a number of his pieces to other people. Souvenir de Quinze Aout is dedicated to one of his pupils, Marie Bourjeaurd. Little is known about this lady, but this charming souvenir of her personality has survived the years.
This quiet piece in 6/8 meter plays comfortably. Just pay some extra attention to the chords and the ornaments.
