Franz Schubert (1797 – 1828) is well known for his large collection of songs, with cycles like Die Winterreise. Most of his songs are published with piano accompaniment.
Little known is, that Schubert played the guitar himself and conceived many of his song accompaniments on the guitar. That’s why this arrangement of Ständchen sounds well for voice and guitar. I rearranged this beautiful piece for guitar duo. The song has a beautiful nocturnal atmosphere, which is perfectly supported by the guitar accompaniment.
