Legnani’s 4 Capriccios Op. 250 is far less complex and difficult than its counterpart Op. 20. Yet it offers pleasant musical entertainment. Capriccio 2 is technically a bit more challenging. The structure of the piece is nice and clear: Theme, elaboration and alternative theme, theme and conclusion. As a surprise we find a nice Italian folk song in the middle section. The scale passage in the conclusion requires practice.
