Cambridge Gavotte (Hayden)

A peasant dance, a Gavotte, with a slightly ragtime atmosphere, that is this Cambridge Gavotte by nineteenth-century guitarist Carrie V. Hayden. A typical example of the salon music of that time. The piece is not that hard, so it must be possible to play it at a happy brisk tempo. The structure is quite traditional, two identical corner sections in D with a somewhat surprising middle section in A.
