Choix de Mes Fleurs Chéries: Le Romarin (Giuliani)

The fifth piece from Choix de mes Fleurs Cheries, ou Le Bouquet Emblematique.

Le Romarinthe Rosemary– is a permanently green shrub which carries violet/white flowers. It is mainly known because it is used as tasty herb to cheer up your stews. The Rosemary is a sign of friendship and loyalty, I guess that’s why it forms part of the well-known phrase Parsley, Rosemary and Thyme from the folk song Scarborough Fair.

Giuliani payed a tribute to this flower in a dramatic tone in a Marche Funèbre like movement. The last measures even remind of a Beethoven piano sonata!
