Biography

Tilman Susato (??? – 1564) was a music publisher in Antwerp, just like Pierre Phalèse. He is mainly known because of his compositions of church music -amongst others psalms- and a few collections of dance music such as Alderhande Danserye from 1551, the mains source for the pieces of this section.

Additionally, Susato published Luculentum theatrum musicum (1568), and interesting collection of lute works of famous composers from his time, including Francesco da Milano, Guillaume de Morlaye and Jacobus Clemens non-Papa.
