The guitarist Domingo Prat (1886 – 1944) describes the guitarist Adela del Valle (1879 – ??) in his Diccionario de Guitarras, Guitarristas y Guitarreros. She was the daughter of the guitarist Angel del Valle. Her father gave her guitar lessons during her primary school years. Then she was apprenticed to the well-known guitarist and composer Julio Sagreras.
She made her stage debut on guitar in 1917. Prat writes that she was also a good singer and played a number of instruments besides the guitar.
This can be noticed in the repertoire she has left behind: it mainly contains folklore song arrangements with the guitar as accompaniment. An exception is the collection Seis Piezas fáciles para Guitarra, a nice small and well playable collection of salon music that I recorded for this site.
