Pensée Mélodique (musical thought) is a free form from a compilation album Six Pieces Faciles pour Guitare Seule by Alfred Cottin published by E. Weiller from Paris, a publisher from the 1920s. In accordance with Cottin’s custom, the piece is dedicated to a student.
This piece requires a little more attention than the first two of the collection. A dreamy approach makes it a nice piece. Within the E major part it is important to give the melody on top of the chords some extra emphasis. In addition, the sixteenth note passages in bars 36 – 41 require attention for a smooth flow.
