This is the Pierette movement from Three Comedies. The piece for three guitars and two melody instruments represents a (female?) clown character from the Commedia dell’ Arte that is related to Pierrot. It is a quiet waltz with a sad note. Apparently, the sad element of Pierrot’s duality is emphasized here.
