The original title of this chanson, written by André Popp and Pierre Cour, was L’amour est bleu, it dates from 1967. An English translation was quickly made and the song ended up in the Eurovision Song Contest by Vicky Leandros, also in 1967.
The song’s theme became well known in the easy-listening circuit through the performance of French composer Paul Mauriat.
