This nocturne from Op. 4 has a rather free form of “song with accompaniment” that sounds quite pianistic at times. After a romantic start with some free form runs, the piece gets some more (Vivace) tempo. A nice exercise in building up a tension arc while as a player I gradually become more and more under stress.
