Johan is a Baguala, a song genre that originates from the local population of northwestern Argentina. Bagualas were often accompanied by a Cajon-like instrument, hence the percussion in this piece.
María is a Huella, a dance form from the countryside of northern Argentina. Here you will find the traditional time signature 6/8 against 3/4.
